Some additional planting of Alta Harris Creek occurred on June 18, with about a dozen TU members and other volunteers helping out. We planted about 100 sedges in a barren area along the new stream channel and we also put in bare root dogwood along the upper channel. Photos courtesy of Harris Ranch neighbor Dawn Taylor.
Rick Prange and Dave Rittenhouse smile for the camera.
Sharon Hale and Zach Curtis took on the work of getting the sedges planted.
Roxanne Brown & Bob McSherry came out to help.
James Piotrowski and son Marshall plant dogwood seedlings just upstream of the culvert.
A wetter than normal spring in 2005 is a catalyst for vegetation to spread above the banks of the channel. Most of the vegetation are weeds, and they will be dealt with in due time.
The sedges planted three weeks prior can be seen in the foreground along the water.
Workers spread out along the stream channel to take care of the planting.
