Evolution of a Riffle

Evolution of a riffle over time as the Island Creek stream restoration is implemented in the spring of 2003. Here is a series of photos of the same riffle as it evolved from the work of the excavator through the planting and initial growth of vegetation. As photos into 2004 and 2005 show, there is also focus on controlling weeds near the stream and the planting of trees along the stream.
