The future of conservation lies with our youth and developing their love of the outdoors. Trout Camp is a 5-day summer program for boys and girls ages 10 to 13 years. The camp emphasizes ethics, etiquette and streamside environment along with the joy of fly fishing.

Curriculum: Trout Camp teaches the sport of fly fishing to both novice and experienced anglers in an ethical manner, with emphasis on the natural resources that make the sport possible. Counselors teach respect for the environment and an understanding that successful angling experience and resource conservation are mutually dependent. Most importantly, Trout Camp teaches your child that being outdoors and getting knee deep into a fishing stream is FUN!

Camp Schedule: The 5-day Trout Camp for 2019 is scheduled for July 15 to 19, 2019. The camp begins with a full first day at the MK Nature Center in Boise. The campers will go home to sleep in their own bed after the first day. The campers return on Tuesday morning, July 16 to load the bus for transport to the four day overnight River Camp in a forest environment. The River Camp ends on return to Boise July 19.

Overnight at the River Camp: The overnight River Camp component begins on Tuesday July 16. The campsite is located at FS Lodgepole Springs Group Site near Silver Creek Plunge Resort. River Camp is designed as an outdoor experience with crafts, food preparation and small camp tent shelter for three nights all with close adult supervision. After four days and three nights in the forest campers return to Boise be picked up by parents on Friday afternoon July 19th.

Supplies and Equipment: Trout Camp provides great food, tent shelters and all of the fly fishing equipment your child needs. Students are welcome to bring and use their own fishing equipment if they desire. They will arrive Monday dressed and equipped for both indoor and outdoor activities. On Tuesday morning, they will arrive for transportation to the four day River Camp by school bus. Students will need to bring their own sleeping bag for cool nights. A complete listing of necessary equipment and clothing to bring for River Camp will be provided to you.

Cost: Tuition is $325 per child. Registration this year can be secured by placing your $75 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit when registration opens!
